The Britten Shopping Centre was born in 1987. With over 100,000 sq ft of shopping space, we became Lowestofts first town-centre redevelopment.
The name Britten comes from local boy Benjamin Britten, who became known as the worlds best composer.
The Britten Shopping Centre comprises nineteen retailers, grouped under a barrel-vaulted Victorian style roof, on an area long known to as ‘the prairie’.
Our aim is to provide you with a safe and enjoyable shopping experience in the heart of Lowestoft’s main shopping area.
The permanent covered market area at the rear of the Britten Shopping Centre adds another dimension to your shopping experience, with a range of stalls offering those unbeatable market deals.
The Britten Shopping Centre is open every day. We open at 9:00am and close at 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays. (Not all stores open on Sundays)
